I feel it's important to write this blog. Many places place an emphasis on how communication works and try to make it more about Clairvoyance and Clarasentient abilities or even about telepathy. There are many different ways that you can communicate with spirit that are not just these everyone is different and it takes various amounts of time for people to open up and become into while you are doing that there are many methods of divination that you can use. Here is a link that gives the many different methods that you can utilize some of these are more archaic and ancient and are no longer used however they may be illegal in some states and some places so please make sure you research thoroughly before you utilise them.
